How to prepare for your visit:

  • Please fill out and return the New Client Information form.
  • Please read the Fear Free handout to learn more about how we strive for a positive visit for you and your pet. All our doctors are Fear Free certified.
  • You do not need to fast your pet. Your pet is unlikely to need sedation; if they do this will be fully discussed with you prior.

What to expect during your visit:

  • You and your pet will be welcomed into a lobby with soothing music, lavender diffusers, and separate dog and cat waiting areas.
  • Pheromone therapy has been proven to lower stress in pets. Dogs will be provided bandanas with Adaptil® and cats will be provided towels with Feliway®
  • You can enjoy complimentary tea or coffee from our beverage station while you wait.
  • A veterinary technician will review the history you provided, ask any follow-up questions, and measure your pet’s vital signs.
  • A doctor will join you in the room to perform a comprehensive physical examination and make diagnostic and treatment recommendations.
  • A coordinator will provide an estimated cost for these recommendations and obtain signed consent to move forwards. We will work with you to find a treatment plan that is right for you and your pet.
  • We encourage you to remain with your pet if you wish (for tests such as blood pressure measurement and echocardiogram), however tests such as x-rays which include radiation must legally be performed in designated areas of the hospital for safety reasons.
  • Most test results are available on the same day and will be reviewed with you immediately. If medications or special diet are required, they may be sent home or ordered through an outside pharmacy. Your healthcare team will help determine the best option for you and your pet.

If you started new medications, we will call or email to check up on you and your pet a few days after your visit. We are here for you as your pet’s partner in care going forwards!
